Wenger To Add One Attacking Reinforcement
Clint Dempsey is thought to be Arséne Wenger’s number one target to bolster his attacking options despite Lukas Podolski’s arrival in the summer, according to the latest rumours.
The Telegraph stated that the scouts of the team have been watching the 29-year-old American regularly during the season, who scored his 17th goal in the season last weekend against Sunderland by an amazing free-kick.
Dempsey’s current contract expires in 2013 and exactly this fact encourages more teams, including Liverpool and Tottenham alongside Arsenal, to try to bid for the versatile attacker, who is rated at least for Ł10m.
Not only is Dempsey the only available option for Wenger. The Sun added that should the Dempsey-deal fail at Arsenal, the team could switch for Junior Hoilett, who is a free target at the end of the season from Blackburn Rovers.
Moreover, according to a Spanish radio station, Wenger has already made an offer of €8m for the versatile Athletic Bilbao-attacker, Markel Susaeta as well.
